When It Comes To Sustainability,
We Take I.T. Seriously.

We’re always looking to establish and improve our green credentials, and below are some examples of what we are currently doing. If you’d like to know more, get in contact with us, we’d be happy to go into more detail with you!

How are we supporting green initiatives?

  • 100% renewable data centres

Our data centres are helping build a more sustainable future by transitioning to 100 per cent renewable energy derived from the wind, sun, and sea. Our data centre was one of the first data centre operators in the UK to do so. As a result, they are among Europe's greenest facilities, assisting our clients and us in lowering our carbon impact. Moreover, rather than relying on confusing carbon credits and deceptive offset schemes, our data centres' electricity is generated by the wind, sun, and sea. This is in line with the spirit of our data centre, to own and manage as much of the service chain as they can.

  • VDI

By adopting the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), organisations have the opportunity to fundamentally transform working practices whilst further reducing power costs. They are highly recyclable and have a far longer lifespan, reducing the lifetime acquisition and disposal costs. The carbon emissions savings of a VDI deployment can be significant and have the potential to massively reduce the environmental impact of your business. With the potential for carbon taxing and trading coming in the future, a VDI deployment could go a long way towards making your business greener and more efficient.

  • Repurpose, reuse, recycle

Logicle IT looks to repurpose and reuse as much as is practical. Over 4% of the goods our supplier sells have been pre-owned, giving our clients the option to save money while reducing waste. To prolong the life of the hardware, we investigate whether a simple memory upgrade or some low-cost tweaking could extend the life of tech items. If we cannot repurpose or reuse equipment, we pass on our used tech to a UK or international charity. Tech For UK has created a map for those who want to donate an old, or unwanted laptop to a school. Computer Aid provides a similar service for the developing world. We also employ the services of an EA licensed WEEE specialist waste collector who are zero to landfill.
